  • Boris Diebold is moving to Babbel from Accenture GmbH.
Berlin,

After the recent arrival of Florian Unger from Bertelsmann AG, Babbel, the learning system for languages, gains another top manager from a large company with Boris Diebold coming on board. Diebold, who was previously working for Accenture GmbH, takes over the new position of Vice President of Engineering at Babbel. He is responsible for the technical development of the Babbel learning system and the expansion of the engineering team.

With Boris Diebold in the executive position of Vice President of Engineering, Babbel will also be continuing its expansion in IT. Diebold is responsible for technical product develo-pment and the further expansion of the engineering team. In this position, he reports directly to CTO and Babbel co-founder Thomas Holl.

Thomas Holl welcomes the expansion of the Babbel management team: “I am delighted that we have acquired Boris Diebold for the position of Vice President of Engineering. With his expertise in the areas of software, project management and team leadership he will bring Babbel to the next level.”

Before Babbel, Diebold has worked twelve years in various management positions at Ac-centure GmbH. He managed complex IT projects both in Germany as well as internationally, among others for leading Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, as Senior Manager in the Systems Integration and Technology division, Diebold was responsible for technical account management for multiple clients. In his role, he focused on the implementation of large custom-build software projects with up to 250 employees and offshoring.

He began his career while still graduating in computer science as co-founder of the music software company d-lusion interactive which was later acquired by the Berlin-based com-pany Native Instruments.

“Instead of moving up another level in a big consulting firm, I want to get closer to the actual product again. I am looking forward to bringing to Babbel my expertise in building up a highly motivated engineering team and, therefore, to help provide the best possible experience to our users”, asserts Boris Diebold.
